Senegal has begun refining its own oil for the first time at the African Refinery Company (SAR) near Dakar. Established in 1961, SAR previously processed only imported crude. The company announced it has successfully refined oil from the Sangomar offshore field, marking a milestone for the countryβs energy sector.
