Djigui Diarra was born on 27 February 1995 in Bamako, Mali. He is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper.
Club Career
Diarra began his professional career at Stade Malien, where he played from 2012 until 2021. During his time there, he achieved significant success, winning multiple titles including the Malian Première Division and the Malian Cup. In August 2021, he joined Young Africans S.C., a prominent club in the Tanzanian Premier League. Since joining Young Africans, Diarra has continued to showcase his skills as a goalkeeper and has contributed to the team’s successes in domestic competitions.
International Career
Diarra’s international career began with youth teams. He was initially set to represent Mali at the 2015 African U-20 Championship but suffered an injury that prevented him from participating. However, he later captained the Mali U-20 team at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, where they finished third. Diarra made notable contributions during this tournament, including saving a penalty in the quarterfinals against Germany.
He progressed to represent the Mali U-23 national team at the 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations and earned three caps while recording one shutout. His senior debut for the Mali national team came on 5 July 2015 during a qualification match for the African Nations Championship against Guinea-Bissau.
