Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Allan Okello, a prominent Ugandan professional footballer, currently plays as an attacking midfielder and right winger for Young Africans SC (Yanga) in the
Tanzanian Premier League. Born on 4 July 2000 in Lira, Uganda, Okello is recognized as one of East Africa’s most creative playmakers, known for his exceptional ball control, vision, and goal-scoring ability from midfield.
Transfer to Young Africans SC
In January 2026, Okello completed a high-profile transfer from the Ugandan club Vipers SC to Young Africans SC in a deal reportedly worth $300,000 (approximately UGX 1 billion). This move followed a stellar 2024/25 season in the Uganda Premier League, where he won the Golden Boot after scoring 19 goals and helped Vipers SC secure a domestic double, winning both the League and the Cup. Club Career
Okello began his football journey at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC, debuting in 2017 with a hat-trick at just 16 years old.
