Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Allan Okello, a prominent Ugandan professional footballer, currently plays as an attacking midfielder and right winger for Young Africans SC (Yanga) in the
Tanzanian Premier League. Born on 4 July 2000 in Lira, Uganda, Okello is recognized as one of East Africa’s most creative playmakers, known for his exceptional ball control, vision, and goal-scoring ability from midfield.
Transfer to Young Africans SC
In January 2026, Okello completed a high-profile transfer from the Ugandan club Vipers SC to Young Africans SC in a deal reportedly worth $300,000 (approximately UGX 1 billion). This move followed a stellar 2024/25 season in the Uganda Premier League, where he won the Golden Boot after scoring 19 goals and helped Vipers SC secure a domestic double, winning both the League and the Cup. His contract with the Tanzanian champions runs until 31 December 2028.
Club Career
Okello began his football journey at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC, debuting in 2017 with a hat-trick at just 16 years old. He later joined the Algerian side Paradou AC in 2020 for a four-year term, before returning to KCCA on loan.
