Current Status of Transfers
As of January 31, 2025, the situation regarding Clement Mzize and Stephane Aziz Kiβs potential transfer to Wydad Athletic Club from Young Africans (Yanga) is quite clear. Both players have been targets for Wydad, as confirmed by their head coach Rulani Mokwena. However, negotiations have not progressed positively.
Negotiation Attempts
Wydad Athletic Club initially approached Yanga with interest in acquiring both Mzize and Aziz Ki. Reports indicated that Yanga was open to listening to offers starting at USD $800,000 for each player. This pricing strategy reflects Yangaβs valuation of their talents, especially considering Mzizeβs standout performances in the CAF Champions League where he scored four goals.
Despite these initial discussions, it has become evident that Yanga is not willing to part with either player during this transfer window. A senior official from Yanga has stated that while there has been interest from various clubs, including Wydad, no formal offers have been made that meet their expectations.
Official Communication
On January 30, 2025, it was reported that Wydad officials ceased talks with Young Africans regarding both players. The reason cited for this halt in negotiations was the high demands set by Yanga for the playersβ transfers. Furthermore, an official letter from Yanga confirmed that they would need both Mzize and Aziz Ki for the remainder of the season and were not willing to entertain any further discussions about their transfer.
Clement Mzize and Stephane Aziz Ki will not be moving to Wydad Athletic Club during this transfer window, as Young Africans have firmly stated their intention to retain both players for the current season.
