
In response to nationwide protests, President William Ruto of Kenya has drastically cut budgets for the offices of the First Lady and Second Lady, dissolved 47 state agencies, and implemented a freeze on non-essential government travel and vehicle procurement
He has also halved the number of government advisers. These actions represent a significant shift in Kenya’s governance during a period of intense public unrest.
